Inside of an office, tucked away just beyond the entrance of Capsule Corporation’s headquarters, a discussion went on that, for one of the party of two… things weren’t quite going their way, “I believe we’ve made it clear that there’s no interest in a partnership, M’am. Capsule Corp just isn’t searching for any partners with the current set of skills that you’re offering.” Came the sharp dismissal of one of the more experienced secretaries that were employed by the megacorporation.

Zerori was quick to snipe in, “I highly doubt that, but I won’t argue with you.” She raised both hands from her place as she lounged along the offered chair and stood up from her seat a moment later, “As one of largest businesses in the world, you have enemies and I have a talent for those situations. I believe my terms are fair, but I won’t push it further than I already have.” With a shrug, Zerori turned to the door, ignoring the heated look the woman across from the table was giving her, “Just let your boss know that I’ll be available if things… well, if they make the wrong enemy. Have a good day.” She’d finish with an arrogant grin before closing the door behind her.

Outside the office but at least out of sight of her meeting partner, Zerori would give a low growl in the back of her throat before taking out a pack of cigarettes and mumbling under her breath, “Stupid bitch.” She really did like her backbone, but this denial was a huge set back that she wasn’t expecting. If this kept up, she’d have to start hiring more for her main business and pick up a side she could focus on. The issue was… technician work was hardly her expertise.

While she stewed on her latest failure, Zerori noticed that there were a lot of casually dressed teenagers in the building and she twitched an eyebrow up at the scene before her, “A field trip?” She muttered, remembering her time in school years ago. She eyed a rather excited young man that looked comically pressed up against the glass of the prototype she’d noticed herself when she came to the meeting. He looked and felt like a fighter and, if his expression was anything to go off of, he was hungry to become stronger. Seeing him get shot down and told to step away from the glass was equal part amusing AND gave her an idea. Haven’t gotten it working yet? We’ll see about that. Before she walked over with an overly peppy smile on her face.

Dressed in a rather slick-looking business suit that was meant to nail her a job for Capsule Corp, Zerori would at least look like someone who worked here to the less informed. “Hey there! You’ve got great timing! We’ve been going over some of the profiles for the stupids that came today and you’re exactly what we’re looking for! You are the latest up-and-coming fighter of your school, aren’t you?” She placed her hands in her pockets, looking over at the tour guide. “I’ve got business with this one from the boss. Didn’t you know about the student testing program that we discussed last meeting?”

Zerori gave a short little chuckle at the boy’s excitement, genuinely amused and almost warmed by how happy he was that - in his own words - ‘his dreams were coming true’. If it weren’t a shame she was using him to get classified and experimental information on the Gravity Chamber system… she might have felt bad for him. However, as it stood, Zerori was taking advantage of an opportunity that she would be a fool to pass up on. For the briefest of moments, Zerori believed that the tour guide might have sniffed her out - were it not for the very convenient relation to whoever Linda was. Still, she could work with that!

“I’m just one of those faces, I’m afraid,” Zerori joked, bringing a hand out to gently guide Maki toward the door that would lead into the Gravity Control Room. “We’ll be off, then!” As they approached the door, well out of sight of the tour guide, Zerori would cheerfully smile at Maki as she eyed the badge-coded panel next to the door. “Let me just scan my…” She reached out, fingers digging easily into the metal just along the outside of the panel before crushing it in one hand like it was little more than a coke can, “-badge.” Covertly covering the various sparks that ejected from the wall, Zerori waited for the door to open before coaxing Maki in. “And we’re set.” She hoped the loom she was giving him was encouragement enough to go along with what she was doing or risk losing his chance at ever using the Chamber.

Once inside, if everything went off without a hitch, the mercenary would close the door back and release a dramatic sigh of relief, “I cannot believe that worked!” She barked with laughter before walking over to the elaborate control center that sat in the middle of the room, thankful that the room was sound proof. She looked over at Maki, “Good acting, kid. You’ve a natural talent,” With a wink, she looked over the panel and gave a whistle. “Been wanting to give this thing a go for a while. Tch… haven’t gotten it to work… lazy bastards is what they are,” She muttered, gradually figuring out what button did what and what she should start testing first.
